correction
To test error correction, we intentioanlly made two scratches on the CD. CDSpeed 99 produced the follwing
results:
As you can see, this drive has really miserable error correction. During error recognition the rate is reduced of course, but afterward it never goes back up again, leaving you with a 4x rate.

These results are also below average. You want to see random access times to remain below 100 ms, and full access times below 150 ms.

This refers to the length of time that passes between inserting the CD and seeing its contents
displayed. Different drives can take anywhere from 10 to 40 seconds to do
this. Our CR-4805TE needed 12.5 seconds for original CDs, 13 seconds for blue
CD-Rs, 11 seconds for green CD-Rs, and 11 seconds for CD-RWs. Finally we get some really good results from this
drive.
Digital Audio Extraction
Digital audio selections were taken from CD wav file tracks. The reading speed is measured with the
AudioCatalyst. Here are the results:
This drive is a fantastic audio extractor. These 24x speeds at the end of the CD are unprecedented. Here we see real quality coming through.
